ANN MARIE COLLINS

ANN Marie Collins is an attorney and vice president and complex claim analyst at PartnerRe in Stamford, Connecticut. Her work currently focuses on investigating and evaluating professional liability reinsurance matters, primarily in the areas of directors and officers, errors and omissions, financial institutions, employment practices, environmental, and representations and warranties/transactional liability. She also works on a variety of general liability claims.

Before joining PartnerRe, Collins spent several years at Swiss Re. Prior to moving in-house, Collins was in private practice for 16 years. She was a partner at her most recent firm, Kaufman Borgeest & Ryan.

Before Collins became a lawyer, she was a chemist at Ciba Geigy Corporation which, after merging with Sandoz, became Novartis.

Collins earned a BS in Biology from Iona College, where she was a member of the Iona College Pipe Band and the Gaelic Society, and a JD, cum laude, from Pace University School of Law.

Married with four children, Collins’ father is from Quilty, Co. Clare. Her mother is from Tuamgraney, Co. Clare. They emigrated from Ireland as young adults.

“I’ve been back to Ireland about 25 times over the years, and I continue to visit relatives regularly. I am a former champion Irish dancer/world qualifier (McLoughlin School of Irish Dancing), and I most recently competed in adult ceili at the 2019 Mid-Atlantic Regional Oireachtas,” Collins says.
