DAVID J. HENSLER

DAVID J. Hensler is senior counsel at Hogan Lovells, and is based in the firm’s Washington, D.C. office. His practice involves complex commercial litigation.

Hensler has handled jury and non-jury trials for plaintiffs and defendants in a wide variety of cases. Currently he focuses on securities fraud litigation, internal investigations, insurance coverage disputes, ERISA litigation, and many other types of general commercial litigation.

Hensler was an adjunct professor at Georgetown University Law Center for eight years, where he taught a course on the use of economic analysis in litigation. He is the co-author of several articles on asset valuation in the context of corporate takeovers and divestitures.

Hensler is a fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers. He is listed as a leading commercial litigator in The Best Lawyers in America and Chambers Global – The World’s Leading Lawyers for Business. He was also recognized by Washington, D.C. Super Lawyers for 2007-2020.

Hensler earned an AB, cum laude, from Saint Louis University, and a JD, cum laude, from Saint Louis University School of Law.

Married with five children, Hensler’s maternal grandparents Patrick and Catherine O’Keefe hailed from Co. Cork.
