KEVIN MARTIN

KEVIN Martin is of counsel at Swanson, Martin & Bell, LLP, a nationally recognized litigation firm with over 140 attorneys in six offices in Illinois, Indiana, and Missouri that he co-founded in 1992. He has over 45 years of civil litigation trial experience, particularly in defense of professionals in the fields of law and medicine, with ancillary experience in the areas of product liability, intellectual property, contracts, family law, probate, construction and defamation. He also became a certified mediator in 2009.

Martin is a fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers, and a member of the National Board of Directors of the American Board of Trial Advocates. He was named one of Chicago-Kent College of Law’s 125 Alumni of Distinction in 2014, and received the Distinguished Service Award from the Chicago-Kent Board of Overseers in 1989.

The Best Lawyers in America selected Martin as its 2015 Lawyer of the Year for Personal Injury Litigation – Defendants. He has been recognized by Best Lawyers every year since 2008.

Martin earned a BS from Loyola University Chicago, and a JD from Chicago-Kent College of Law.

Martin and his wife Judee have four sons – Sean, Todd, Scott and Matthew. Sean is a fellow member of the Irish Legal 100. The family’s Irish history, outlined in Sean’s profile, is extensive, with roots in counties Monaghan and Kerry.
