PATRICK K. O’Brien is the managing partner at O’Brien Law, P.C., and is based in the firm’s Petaluma, California office. He focuses on general civil litigation with an emphasis on complex construction, automobile, business, trust, insurance and product liability matters.

O’Brienhassuccessfullytriedanumberofcases, includingseveralmajorbusinessfraudcases,automobileandtruckcases,constructionmattersand elder abuse cases. The firm represents clients statewide in matters involving commercial automobileissues,constructiondefect,employment, public entity disputes, business fraud, breach of contract, aviation and trust and estate issues.

Beforefoundinghisfirm,O’Brienpreviouslyworkedatmajorlawfirmsincluding Ropers, Majeski in California. He has served as CEO, general counsel and boardmemberforcompaniesintheU.S.,theUnitedKingdomandCentralAmerica.

In 2020, O’Brien was elected to the Board of Advisors to the International Development Law Organization, the only NGO worldwide which focuses solely on rule of law issues. It operates in over 90 countries worldwide.

O’Brien earned a BA in political science from Loyola Marymount University, and a JD from Gonzaga Law School.

Married with one child, O’Brien’s maternal and paternal great grandparents emigrated from Co. Cork. His brother is fellow Irish Legal 100 member Robert C. O’Brien.
