PATRICK T. CONLON

PATRICK T. Conlon is an attorney with Greenberg Traurig, and is based in the firm’s Florham Park, New Jersey office. He represents real estate developers, sellers, buyers, and borrowers in a broad range of real estate and land use matters, including the purchase and sale of properties, commercial and residential leasing matters, and construction and purchase financing.

Conlon drafts and reviews complex real estate transaction documents including purchase and sale agreements, joint venture agreements, loan agreements, indemnity agreements, and other transaction documents related to multifamily and commercial transactions.

Conlon has served as land use and zoning counsel to many of the largest development projects in Jersey City and Hudson County. He has presented dozens of development and subdivision projects before a number of local planning boards, zoning boards of adjustment, historic preservation commissions, and local community groups guiding clients through the process of applying for the necessary government approvals required to keep development projects moving. He works on projects ranging from small additions to mixed-use high rise buildings.

Conlon earned a BA from The Ohio State University, and a JD from the University of North Carolina School of Law.

Conlon is intensely proud of his Irish heritage. His mother was born and raised in Co. Limerick, and was a fluent Gaelic speaker when she graduated the University of Limerick.

“Through my maternal grandfather, I became very much indoctrinated into the world of Irish rugby. One Christmas, when I was very young, he bought me a special VCR so he could send me tapes of famous matches over the years from Munster and the Irish national team,” Conlon recalls.

“I’ve attended four or five matches at Thomond Park, including Ronan O’Gara’s last home match as a Munster player. Every summer growing up, I would visit my maternal grandparents in Limerick, and I’ve continued to do so every other year since I’ve become an adult.

“My father was raised in the Norwood section of the Bronx. He is very much a Bronx Irish Catholic. His father was born and raised in the border area between Monaghan and Armagh, and his mother is from Mayo. Both my grandparents moved to the Bronx in the 1950s. While my other grandfather was a rugby man, my paternal grandfather (my namesake, Patrick Conlon) was a Gaelic games man and was a weekly attendee at Gaelic Park in the Bronx. His favorite sport was Gaelic football, but he also followed hurling very closely. I would attend with him whenever I would visit on a Sunday.”

Cullen is a member of the Hudson Valley Ancient Order of Hibernians, and the Irish American Building Society of New York. His application for Irish citizenship is pending.
