STEPHEN P. FOGERTY

STEPHEN P. Fogerty is a founding partner of FLB Law in Westport, Connecticut. For the last 35 years he has successfully represented hundreds of clients before judges and juries in every court in Connecticut, and successfully argued appeals in the Connecticut Appellate and Supreme Courts and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit.

That experience informs his effective approach to solving his clients’ problems. Whether those problems relate to complex litigation within the courts or more nuanced disputes between business principals, neighbors or family members, his experience, reputation, tenacity and valuable connections in the legal world, government, and the community enable him to solve almost any legal problem one may encounter.

In 2021, Fogerty left Halloran Sage and started FLB Law with two former Halloran Sage partners, with whom he leads FLB Law.

Fogerty has taken leadership roles within the legal community as past president of the Connecticut chapter of the American Board of Trial Advocates and as a national board representative from Connecticut to the organization. He also served on the Connecticut state committee for the American College of Trial Lawyers, of which he remains a member.

He is also a member of the two American Inns of Courts in Connecticut, and has served as president of Catholic Family Charities of Norwalk.

Fogerty maintains an AV Preeminent rating from Martindale-Hubbell. He has been named to Connecticut Super Lawyers every year since 2007, and has been recognized by The Best Lawyers in America.

Fogerty earned a BA, with honors, from The Catholic University of America, and a JD from Fordham University School of Law.

Married with two children, Fogerty traces his Irish ancestry three generations back to counties Tipperary and Sligo.
