CRAIG A. GILLEN

CRAIG A. Gillen is the founding partner of Gillen, Withers & Lake, LLC, with offices in Atlanta and Savannah, Georgia. For 30 years, he has achieved sustained success in federal courts throughout the country, first as an assistant U.S. attorney (AUSA) in the Northern District of Georgia, then as the deputy independent counsel for Iran/Contra, and subsequently as a criminal defense attorney. As an AUSA, Gillen received several awards and commendations as the result of successful prosecutions, including DOJ Special Commendation for U.S. v. Thevis, a 10 week RICO prosecution; DOJ Director’s Award for the prosecution of a corrupt sheriff in U.S. v. Glass ;a second DOJ Director’s Award for the 10 week RICO prosecution of U.S. v. Rosenthal; and an Attorney General’s Special Achievement Award for the successful prosecution of Congressman Patrick Swindall.
