JENNIFER L. KELLER

JENNIFER L. Keller is a partner at Keller/Anderle LLP in Irvine, California. She is one of America’s most successful trial attorneys, representing both plaintiffs and defendants in a broad range of high-stakes commercial litigation and white collar cases.

Keller made a last-minute entrance as lead counsel for MGA Entertainment in the 2011 retrial of Mattel v. MGA, the epic doll battle popularly known as Barbie v. Bratz. Coming into the four-month jury trial just 12 days before jury selection, she captained MGA to a win Reuters called “an astonishing loss” for Mattel and the Los Angeles Times deemed “a stunning reversal of fortune” for MGA.

Two years earlier Keller won California’s largest business jury verdict of 2009 with $350 million awarded to her venture capitalist client in Auerbach v. Daily. She also represented Standard & Poors in United States v. The McGraw-Hill Companies, the government’s civil suit claiming S&P inflated the value of certain mortgage-backed securities.

In addition to trial victories, in 2021 Keller won a demurrer without leave to amend for her client, an AmLaw 100 law firm, in a $2.2 billion legal malpractice case. Also in 2021, she settled a billion-dollar plaintiff legal malpractice case against an AmLaw 100 law firm for her client CashCall. The confidential settlement was achieved on the eve of trial after four years of hard-fought litigation and appears to be the largest legal malpractice case in U.S. history.

Individuals Keller represents or has recently represented in civil litigation include award winning actor Kevin Spacey; Michael Ovitz, founder of CAA and former chair of the Walt Disney Company; billionaire Henry Nicholas, co-founder of Broadcom; and billionaire Isaac Larian, CEO of MGA Entertainment.

Keller has received a multitude of honors during her distinguished career and is a fellow of the invitation-only American College of Trial Lawyers. She is a 2018 inductee into the California Lawyers Association Trial Lawyer Hall of Fame, one of only 35 attorneys so honored throughout the years. Benchmark Litigation lists her as one of the Top 100 Trial Attorneys in America and among the Top 20 Trial Lawyers in California, and in 2020 and 2021, Super Lawyers ranked her number one in Southern California. She is a fellow of the Litigation Counsel of America, an invitation-only organization limited to the top one-half of one percent of the nation’s attorneys.

Keller earned an AB from the University of California, Berkeley, and a JD from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law.

Married with one son, Keller has extensive background on her maternal ancestors who hailed from Millstreet, Kanturk and Fermoy in Co. Cork, and Co. Galway. She has been a member of the Orange County Celtic Bar Association since its founding in 2000.
