“I grew up in a typical Irish American middle class Catholic family – we spent lots of time playing games, listening to music and in church, at CCD class and saying rosaries on our knees by the fireplace. I grew up wearing Irish sweaters made by my mother, took Irish dancing lessons, and tortured my family trying to play tin whistle and folk guitar along with Clancy Brothers records,” LeHane recalls.

“I haven’t traced all of my family tree, but I’m mostly Irish with a bit of English and even less Northern European. On my father’s side, I’m told that three of my four great grandparents were born in Ireland. My maternal grandmother was also from an Irish family. Her maiden name was Ryan and her mother’s maiden name was Knight.”
