WILLIAM T. McGLOIN

WILLIAM T. McGloin is a partner at Connell Foley, and is based in the firm’s Roseland, New Jersey office. He practices in the firm’s Professional Liability, Insurance Defense, Product Liability and Tort, Construction Law and Commercial Litigation practice groups.

For more than 30 years, McGloin has dedicated his practice to helping clients navigate and successfully resolve their complex legal issues through advocacy and, when needed, litigation. He represents a broad array of businesses and individuals and has litigated all types of civil matters, including professional liability, general liability, products liability, construction defect, wrongful death, premises liability and transportation matters.

McGloin has significant experience representing, counseling and defending a wide range of professionals, including attorneys, architects, engineers, land surveyors, physicians and other medical providers, dentists, accountants, real estate agents and brokers.

In the area of legal malpractice, he has litigated claims arising out of commercial disputes, matrimonial actions, real estate transactions and foreclosures, wills and trusts, personal injury matters, Fair Debt Collection Practices Act claims, and other professional services provided by attorneys.

He also represents architects and engineers in assorted claims for personal injury, property damage and economic loss arising out of design, construction and project management disputes. Likewise, McGloin represents other professionals including, but not limited to, chiropractors, long-term care facilities, home health care agencies, podiatrists and psychologists in a range of liability matters.

In addition to his litigation practice, McGloin frequently counsels clients on issues of risk-management and ethics.

McGloin earned a BA from Rutgers College, and a JD from Rutgers School of Law-Newark.

McGloin’s maternal grandmother, Mary Lillian Nesbitt of Portumna, Co. Galway, arrived in New York in 1917 at age 19. His line of maternal and paternal Irish ancestors has been traced back for four generations. He is a member of the Irish American Bar Association of New Jersey and the Irish American Cultural Institute.

McGloin and his wife, Linda, have three children: Melissa, Billy and Jessica.
