JENNIFER MONE

JENNIFER Mone is vice president for legal affairs and general counsel at Hofstra University in Long Island, New York. She oversees the Office of General Counsel with responsibility for all of the university’s legal affairs. Mone joined Hofstra in 2009 and previously served as deputy general counsel.

Prior to joining Hofstra, Mone served as deputy general counsel for a global manufacturer, marketer and retailer of nutritional supplements, managing that public company’s domestic and international litigation and advising the company on global compliance, policy and regulatory issues.

Mone is a member of the Board of Directors of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul of Long Island. In 2017 she was awarded the Outstanding Woman in Law honor from Hofstra’s Maurice A. Deane School of Law.

Mone earned a BA, cum laude, from Tufts University, and a JD from Fordham University School of Law where she served as editor-in-chief of the Fordham Urban Law Journal. She clerked for the Honorable Loretta Preska, United States district judge for the Southern District of New York.

Mone is married with one daughter. Her grandparents were from counties Mayo, Galway and Armagh. She holds dual U.S.-Irish citizenship.
