KEVIN Patrick Murphy is the administrative partner of Walter | Haverfield, an Ohio firm with offices in Cleveland, Columbus and Mayfield Heights. He is also a partner in the firm’s Business Services group. Murphy represents public and private companies on major real estate transactions that include construction, development, financing, leasing, acquisitions, dispositions, exchanges, zoning, and entitlements. His practice also focuses on negotiating acquisitions, dispositions, buyouts, and joint ventures. Murphy advises on structuring transactions and corporate governance matters. He regularly represents financial institutions and corporate borrowers in connection with commercial loan transactions. Furthermore, Murphy represents marijuana business owners, individuals looking to enter the legal cannabis industry, and clients looking to effect change in marijuana laws and regulations. Murphy has been selected by The Best Lawyers in America in 2022 and 2023 for real estate law and cannabis law. He has been recognized by Ohio Super Lawyers every year since 2012. In 2014 he was named by Crain’s Cleveland Business to its Forty Under 40 class. Murphy earned a BA from the University of Miami, and a JD from Case Western Reserve University School of Law. In 2002 he studied at the School of Law at Trinity College in Dublin. Married with four children, Murphy’s grandparents were natives of Co. Roscommon. He is an Irish citizen and holds an Irish passport. He is a member of the East Side Irish American Club and the Irish American Law Society of Cleveland.
