PATRICK QUILL

PATRICK Quill is a partner in the Asset Securitization Department at Chapman and Cutler LLP, and is based in the firm’s New York office. He focuses on structured finance and derivative products.

Quill’s experience includes representing financial institutions in their capacity as issuers, underwriters, investment managers and derivative counterparties in connection with cash and synthetic CLOs, structured note programs and credit linked securities. He regularly structures and represents users of credit, equity and interest rate derivatives in monetization and synthetic risk transfer transactions.

Quill’s experience encompasses virtually all of the CLO market, including broadly syndicated transactions, middle market transactions, emerging market transactions, and balance sheet CLOs (including related analyses of bankruptcy true sale and non-consolidation issues).

His experience also includes structured closed-end fund financings and asset-backed financing transactions, including conduit loans, term financings, and repurchase facilities for asset classes such as royalty payment streams (pharmaceutical and franchise), whole business securitizations, structured settlements, commercial mortgage loans, aircraft leases, and timeshare receivables. Additionally, he regularly counsels financial institutions on the impact of Dodd-Frank and other financial crisis regulatory initiatives.

Quill earned a BS from Fordham University, and a JD from Brooklyn Law School. He is also a New York State certified public accountant.

Married with four children, Quill’s mother Mary is from Roundstone, Co. Galway. His father is from Lyreacrompane, Co. Kerry. He is a frequent visitor to Ireland, and as a child often spent summers living on his grandparents’ farms.

Quill is a member of the Irish American Bar Association of New York.
