JANE SULLIVAN ROBERTS

JANE Sullivan Roberts is the managing partner of the Washington, D.C. office of Macrae. One of Washington’s most insightful and experienced legal recruiters, she advises high-profile law firm partners and groups on lateral moves, and senior government attorneys transitioning to the private sector.

She works with clients, primarily established law firms, on business-critical recruiting assignments such as succession planning in key practice areas.

Prior to joining Macrae, Sullivan Roberts was a legal recruiter with Major, Lindsey & Africa, based in Washington, D.C. Before that, she was a partner in the Global Technology Group at Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman, where she also held the position of executive partner for talent development. As testament to her contributions to the industry, for six years in a row (20162022), she was honored with inclusion in Lawdragon’s 100 Leading Legal Consultants and Strategists.

Sullivan Roberts earned her undergraduate degree in mathematics at the College of the Holy Cross, a diploma of education at the University of Melbourne in Australia, and an MSc in applied mathematics from Brown University. She is a 1984 graduate of Georgetown University Law Center and served as judicial clerk to the Honorable James M. Sprouse of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit.

Sullivan Roberts holds her Irish heritage in high regard. Her mother is a native of Co. Cork, while her paternal grandparents hailed from counties Kerry and Fermanagh.

Sullivan Roberts owns a holiday cottage in Ireland with her husband, United States Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts, and their extended family. They have two children.
