THOMAS J. SCANLON

THOMAS J. Scanlon is an attorney with Hawkins and Company, LLC in Cleveland. His primary practice areas include business law, real estate law, condominium law, taxation, probate, estate planning, trials and appeals law. He also servesasanarbitratorandmediatorincommercial disputes, construction disputes and trust and estate disputes.

Scanlon, a member of the Cleveland International Hall of Fame, has contributed tremendously to charitable and community organizations in the city. He has served as a member of the board nationally and locally of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, and served as president of the local chapter. He is a past chairman of the board of the Cleveland Pops Orchestra and former chairman of the board of the West Side Ecumenical Ministry, and a member of the board of the Center for Families and Children. He is a former member of the board of the Greater Cleveland Sports Commission.

A native of Cleveland, Scanlon graduated from John Carroll University and Cleveland-Marshall College of Law where he was on the board of editors of the Cleveland-Marshall Law Review. In 2017, Scanlon was named to his law school’s Hall of Fame Living Legends section.

Scanlon is married with four daughters. His great grandparents were natives of Co. Mayo.

Scanlon is a member of the Irish American Archives Society, the Mayo Society of Greater Cleveland, the Irish American Charitable Foundation, the West Side Irish American Club and the Irish American Club East Side. He is a founding member of the Irish American Law Society of Cleveland and remains on its board.
