HANNAH M. SMITH

HANNAH M. Smith is a litigator in the Cleveland office of Tucker Ellis LLP. She practices in the areas of white collar criminal defense and business litigation, and her experience includes developing strategies and defenses involving governmental affairs, lobbying, healthcare, regulatory matters, money laundering and criminal fraud including public corruption.

Smith joined Tucker Ellis after spending six years in the Cuyahoga County Prosecutor’s Office. As an assistant prosecuting attorney in the General Felony Division, she litigated 65-plus trials and disposed of more than 1,200 cases.

While in law school, Smith worked as an extern for the Civil Division of the United States Attorney’s Office, preparing memoranda and motions on issues related to immigration, confidentiality, medical malpractice, and tax law.

Smith earned a BA in political science from Yale University, and a JD, cum laude, from Cleveland-Marshall College of Law.

Smith traces her Sidley Irish roots to Castletownbere, Co. Cork, her Cronin-Mullins roots to Cork and Kerry, her Hearon roots to Mohill, Co. Leitrim, and her O’Leary roots to Co. Cork. She is the current secretary and a board member of the Irish American Law Society of Cleveland.
