PATRICK W.D. TURLEY

PATRICK W.D. Turley is a partner with the international law firm of Dechert LLP, and is based in the firm’s Washington, D.C. office. He is a long time member of the firm’s Financial Services Practice Group, having joined Dechert as an associate attorney in 1988.

Turley’s practice is focused exclusively on matters involving investment management law. His clients consist of firms that sponsor and advise SEC-registered mutual funds. He specializes in providing legal and regulatory advice to the boards of directors of mutual funds, and he guides fund boards in complying with all aspects of the complex federal and state securities laws that govern the management and operation of mutual fund companies and the distribution of their shares in the U.S.

Turley also works closely with his Dechert colleagues in the firm’s Dublin office in connection with those of his clients that offer and sell their mutual fund products in Europe by means of Irish-registered investment products.

Turley attended the Doane Stuart School in Albany, New York and served on the Board of Trustees of Doane Stuart for over 20 years. Doane Stuart is the proud sponsor of an Irish American exchange program which brings together Protestant and Catholic students from Lagan College, a secondary school in Belfast, to spend a year at Doane Stuart and live with local families in the Albany area.

Turley earned a BA from Colgate University and a JD from the Columbus School of Law at The Catholic University of America.

He and his wife Betsy live in Bethesda, Maryland and they have three children. Turley traces his Irish roots on both sides of his family to Co. Mayo.
