ASHLEIGH AITKEN

ASHLEIGH Aitken is of counsel at Aitken Aitken Cohn in Santa Ana, California, where she specializes in complex business litigation, class actions and major personal injury cases.

Aitken is a former federal prosecutor, practicing in the Los Angeles and Santa Ana Office of the U.S. Attorney in the Central District of California. She prosecuted cases involving armed bank robbery, narcotics, mail and wire fraud, child pornography and firearms violations.

Aitken was the 2015 president of the Orange County Bar Association, championing veteran’s rights and pro bono services for military and veteran families, and the 2016 president of the Orange County Bar Association Charitable Fund.

In 2021, Aitken announced her candidacy for mayor of Anaheim. The election is on November 8, 2022.

During the pandemic, she volunteered at food distribution drives in Anaheim and the Orange County Fairgrounds. She worked to open both a Covid testing site and vaccine clinics at the fairgrounds.

Aitken earned a BA from Boston College and a JD from the University of Southern California, Gould School of Law. She lives in Anaheim with her husband, attorney Michael Penn, their three children and an ark of animals.

Aitken, whose father is fellow Irish Legal 100 honoree Wylie Aitken, traces her Irish ancestry to Co. Cork three generations back. She is an officer of the Celtic Bar Association.
