JOHN MORGAN

JOHN Morgan is the founder of Morgan

& Morgan, a personal injury firm with multiple locations throughout its Florida base and elsewhere in the U.S.

Morgan founded the firm in 1988, just five years after earning a JD from the University of Florida College of Law. Morgan

& Morgan employs more than 800 attorneys, thousands in support staff members and has recovered billions for its clients. The slogan and mission statement “For the People” continues to be a way of life for Morgan and his firm.

Morgan has lectured across the country on the practice of law. He has been an active member of the Florida Academy of Trial

Lawyers and served as a FLAG trustee, making a push for a Florida state law that would protect families from corporations and insurance companies. Morgan is the author of the books You Can’t Teach Hungry…Creating the Multimillion Dollar Law Firm, and You Can’t Teach Vision…The Twenty-First Century Law Firm.

Morgan and his wife Ultima, also a lawyer in the firm, support the Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida, whose principal goal is to end the “invisible problem” of hunger throughout the state. In 2013, the Morgans donated $2 million which allowed the organization to fund and open the Morgan & Morgan, P.A. Hunger Relief Center.

Morgan was the principal leader and public face of Florida’s yearslong campaign to legalize medical marijuana. He said the deeply personal cause – his brother Tim was paralyzed after a workplace accident in Disney World, and obtains pain relief when using marijuana – is a step to not only provide safer relief and treatment methods for those with legitimate diseases, but also to help end the rampant problem of prescription drug abuse in Florida. The measure passed in 2016, with 71 percent of voters in support.

Morgan’s grandparents immigrated to America from Co. Cork. The Morgans have four children, three of whom work at Morgan & Morgan.
